This kind of thing is so encouraging, humbling and also reminds me; that people do care, that people are watching how we treat vulnerable people, that social issues affect everyone not just the ones who are suffering; including the legends John McGinlay and Tony Kelly. To have a Bolton legend like John McGinlay utter the words Be Strong & Darren Armstrong in the same sentence is absolutely mind blowing but its also reminded me why we are doing what we are doing.
We are so blessed to have people like John & Tony in this great town because some people have that goggle box attitude to homelessness and addictions. They sit in their arm chairs and warm houses passing judgement on people but in reality the only bad thing ever to happen to them is they stubbed their toe in 1984.
John & Tony, as did many others left the comfort of their own homes so that they experience the freezing cold for one night and have a glimpse of what homelessness is really like. I take my hat off to every single one of you but I’m absolutely blown away that people are actually living like this all year round.
Good on you John and thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you to EVERYONE who made this possible through donations, sleeping out and encouraging us.
