The Be Strong Project are pleased to announce that they are now working in partnership with The Message Trust.
Both organisations are working together to give prolific priority offenders, ex offenders and drug/alcohol clients the opportunity to be trained and employed in social enterprises.
In Greater Manchester, there are almost 10,000 workless ex-offenders. Only 45% of ex offenders manage to sustain employment of four weeks or more in the six months after release and ex offenders are two-thirds less likely to reoffend if they are engaged in employment, education or training.
The Be Strong Project will prepare people mentally, spiritually and physically before they are referred to The Message Enterprise Centre in Manchester and in May 2012 there will be six brand new businesses and dozens of new jobs for ex offenders created.
Be Strong will only refer successful clients to the Enterprise Centre if they are successful on the Be Strong Project and this will be evidenced by a 90% attendance on all activities and a willingness to change their old way of life by changing mind sets and even their old circle of friends.
